What is a Cup?

What is a cup in a bat and what is the purpose? At SAM BAT, our patented cup can make all the difference in having confidence at the plate. Unlike most companies, who just have 2 cupping options, we have 3; the no cup, half cup, and full cup.     The No Cup The No Cup means that there is no indentation at the end of the barrel, only a very small recess as can be seen from the photo. Our “no cup” bats are not completely flat. There are a few common misconceptions about the ‘no cup’ and...

What Models do the MVP’s Swing?

What model do the MVP’s swing?  Well, that is an interesting question. Like many players, both 2017 MVP’s have tried a few different models, with a few different names.  Jose Altuve used two different models during the regular season and playoffs; the JA27 and the CC8. The CC8 is also known as the MC1/CG1, which was originally designed by Chris Coghlan. The CC8 was a combination model put together by Chris because he loved the handle of the MC1, but the barrel of the CG1. The Script for Game 6

We have been fortunate to watch the most exciting World Series in dare I say history. Not just because we are going into game 6 or because we have had Cy young caliber pitching and an MVP playing up to his potential in the playoffs, but because these games are playing into a script that only an LA screen writer could put together. We will see a gritty performance...

Perspective on World Series Game One and Two

The Fall Classic is off and running, so far it has been “Classic”. This is why we play the game, why the fans bleed all season, what the players work for year after year; the chance to win the World Series. To hoist the trophy, get a ring, and call their city Champions. Now it’s here for LA and Houston, just 3 more wins and the glory is yours. Vets like Granderson and Verlander have played their entire careers without earning a ring, and now one will take it home. The first two games of the series the Starters have...

Championship Series Wrap-up

All four teams were playing the hot ball going into these Series. The Astros and Dodgers breezed through the Division series taking their respective series in 4 games or less. The Cubs and the Yankees had a much more challenging time with their Division opponent; with both teams went to a decisive game 5 before advancing. ALCS: A lot can be said about this series, but in the end the Astros became the first team to win both the AL and NL pennants. The run split of the series was 22-20 in favor of the Yankees; however, it was the...
